Henfield Parish Council will be holding the following events on 6 June 2024 to mark the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, the largest Naval, Air and Land operation in history.

Thursday 6th June 2024 – 80th Anniversary of D Day – Events in Henfield

9.00am - Raising the Commemorative Flag at the Henfield Hall

        The Henfield Club will also be raising the Commemorative Flag

10.50am – Assemble at War Memorial

They shall grow not old read by Cllr Morgan

The Last Post will be sounded

11.00am - Two Minutes Silence

The Reveille is sounded

The Kohima Epitaph

Wreath will be laid by Henfield Parish Council Chairman,  Cllr Elaine Goodyear

The International Tribute will be read by Pastor Lawton

The Blessing

6.30pm - St Peter’s Church Bells will be rung.

8.45pm – Assemble at War Memorial

The Remembrance Statement will be read by Cllr Goodyear

Process to the Rothery Field for lighting of Beacon

The International Tribute will be read by Cllr Goodyear

9.15pm - The Beacon will be lit
