Common land is not land that is owned by everyone (a popular misconception).

All commons have an owner. In the case of Henfield Common, Broadmere and Oreham they are owned by Horsham District Council and  managed by Henfield Parish Council.

The public have a statutory right of access on foot to registered common land.

 Due to the non-intrusive traditional 'management' in the past Henfield's Commons have a  tremendous diversity of flora and fauna that remains today.

The Joint Commons Committee meets every 2 months in the Henfield Hall.
This committee is a joint venture between Henfield Parish Council and Horsham District Council.
Members of the public are welcome to attend all meetings.
